2.44 Three wires are used to suspend the plate shown. Aluminium wires are used at A and B with a diameter of 1/8 in. and steel wire is used at C with a diameter of 1/12 in. Knowing that the allowable stress for steel (E = 29 x 10⁶ psi) is 18 ksi, determine the maximum load P that may be applied.
